How to Apply (D-2 → D-10)

1

Apply before your D-2 visa expires — do not let it lapse

2

Submit at your local immigration office (출입국·외국인청) or online via hikorea.go.kr

3

Required documents: application form, passport, ARC, graduation certificate, job search plan (구직활동계획서), proof of residence

4

New graduates (within 1 year): no bank balance statement required, no points calculation needed

5

Fee: ₩100,000

Part-Time Work on D-10

D-10 holders can work part-time if they meet all three conditions simultaneously:

Less than 3 years since graduation
TOPIK 4+ (or KIIP Level 4 completion); TOPIK 5+ allows 30 hours/week instead of 25
No prior E-1 through E-7 visa history

⚠️ Internships are allowed (same company, up to 1 year cumulative). Must notify immigration within 15 days of starting an internship.

D-10 → E-7 Conversion

This is the primary goal of D-10. When you receive a qualifying job offer:

Employer submits E-7 sponsorship request (사증발급인정서) to immigration
Prepare: employment contract (₩31,120,000+/year), degree certificate, transcript
Apply for E-7 status change at immigration office (체류자격 변경)
Fee: ₩130,000
Processing: approximately 2–4 weeks

⚠️ Don't Miss the Window

Apply for D-10 before your D-2 expires. There is no grace period for overstays — expiry = illegal status = forced departure and re-entry ban. Apply at least 1–2 months before expiry.

Based on Ministry of Justice D-10 guidelines. Verify current rules at hikorea.go.kr.
